Jacob Ingebrigtsen looks to defend his 1500m/5000m gold at ongoing European championships in Munich.

The Olympic Champion over 1500m has already completed half of his work winning the 5000m in 13.21.13 min while Mo Katir and Yemaneberhan Crippa finished second and third respectively. Another big challenge in front of him is the 1500m which includes many strong athletes who have a chance to winning the title.

Jacob who also won the 5000m at World Championships defended his title at the European Champs running a blistering 2.23.61 min over the last 1000m.

Everybody has expectations and you have to learn how to deal with it,” the Norwegian said. “I believe in myself and I believe in the things I have done before. It was amazing here today, it was a great race to be a part of”

The 1500m start line includes 12 runners of which 3 are the British trio of Jake Heyward, Neil Gourley and Matthew Stonier which possess a great danger to the young Norwegian. The list also includes Mario Garcia of Spanish who finished 4th in Oregon. However, both the brothers of Jacob, Henrik and Filip won’t be on the start line due to injuries. All three brothers have won the European title over 1500m. The world champion over 1500m also wouldn’t be in the event as he hopes to compete over the 800m.
