Anderlecht has announced the sign of Jan Vertonghen from Benfica. The veteran Belgium centre-back has signed on a two-year contract. The Belgian has never played in Belgian league. Vertonghen joined Benfica from Tottenham Hotspur, where he played 300 games for them. He has played 57 games for Benfica but hasn’t scored any goal for them.
Adel Taarabt has left Benfica by terminating his contract by mutual consent. He is now a free agent. The Moroccan has played 79 times for Benfica, but has scored only twice. he was loaned to Genoa in 2017/18 season where he played 28 times and scored twice. Currently he is not linked with any clubs but English lower divisions can acquire the service of the ex-QPR star.
