Afghanistan Announces Squad For T20 World Cup 2022, Nabi To Lead And Qais Ahmad Returns To The Squad

In preparation for the forthcoming ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022, that will take place in Australia, the Afghanistan Cricket Board announced a 15 member squad on Thursday, September 15.

The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022, which will be the eighth edition of the multi-nation competition, will start its group stage matches on October 16. The Super 12 round will begin at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on October 22, and the final is set for November 13.

Afghanistan will compete against the defending champions Australia, New Zealand, and England in Group 1 of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022. The winners of Group A as well as the runners-up from Group B will now be included in Group 1.

Mohammad Nabi (C), Najibullah Zadran (VC), Rahmanullah Gurbaz (WK), Azmatullah Omarzai, Darwish Rasooli, Farid Ahmad Malik, Fazal Haq Farooqi, Hazratullah Zazai, Ibrahim Zadran, Mujib ur Rahman, Naveen ul Haq, Qais Ahmad, Rashid Khan, Salim Safi and Usman Ghani. Reserves: Afsar Zazai, Sharafuddin Ashraf, Rahmat Shah, Gulbadin Naib.

Travelling Reserves : Afsar Zazai, Sharafuddin Ashraf, Rahmat Shah and Gulbadin Naib.
