Commanding centre backs are the foundation of many title winning teams, and in young Leon King the coaching staff at Rangers feel they may have the real deal on their hands. Standing at 183 cm, the right footed stopper has looked both imposing and composed in recent performances and is sure to be attracting the notebooks of the various scouting networks around the world. The 18 year old has his head firmly on his shoulders as a recent Interview showed when he talked of “taking my career one step at a time, and just trying to learn from the more experienced players in the squad.” It might not be too long. before a bigger club comes calling and tests the resolve of Rangers to hang onto their onto talent. Many clubs are monitoring Rangers centre back Leon King (2004) who started against Liverpool at Anfield, last week and the point to be noted is that he’s out of contract in June 2024. Manchester United, Newcastle and Leeds have already sent their scouts to follow King. King already has 10 appearance for his current club. Giovanni van Bronckhorst: “Leon (King) is a player that is developing really well. He is performing really well in the minutes he has had. He is only 18 and is really open for coaching and working hard to better himself, his future is very bright.”
