The board has stated that, Fakahar Zaman has been added to Pakistan’s squad for the ICC T20 World Cup 2022. The southpaw will take the place of Usman Qadir, who was one of the 15 players on the squad but couldn’t fully recover from an injury.
Usman Qadir fractured his right thumb significantly during the T20I series against England on September 25 in Karachi. The legspinner is now ruled out for selection prior to October 22.
Fakhar will fly from London to Brisbane with Shaheen Shah Afridi on Saturday for the two warm up matches versus England on October 17 and Afghanistan on October 19, in which the team management will assess the left handed batter’s fitness.
