Understand contact has already been made between Pochettino’s representatives and Aston Villa, and suggestions are that the 50yo is keen on returning to the PL. Unconfirmed reports tonight suggest that Aston Villa have today parted company with Steven Gerrard. Thought the performance was good yesterday but results just haven’t gone their way at all. The pressure at a club like Aston Villa is always on and it just wasn’t working. Aston Villa will target Mauricio Pochettino and try to convince him to step back into management if they pull the plug on Steven Gerrard’s managerial reign. Aston Villa are prepared to move ‘heaven and earth’ to try and convince Mauricio Pochettino to become their manager.
