Zimbabwe Defeats Scotland By 5 Wickets And Proceed To The Super 12s And Knocking The Scotland Out In The T20 World 2022 Qualifiers

Zimbabwe overcame Scotland by five wickets in the last Group B match of the 2022 T20 World Cup to advance to the Super-12 stage. After winning the toss, Scotland’s captain Richie Berrington decided to bat first.

Berrington team did not get off with a good start losing the opener Jones and it was other opener again it was George Munsey’s contribution of almost an run a ball fifty scoring 54 off 51 deliveries and Macleod score of 25 runs.

And Leask end contribution helped and took Scotland to an average total of 132 for 6 in their 20 overs 20 overs. As soon as Zimbabwe openers came, both the opener Chakabva and one down batter madhevere were sent packing to the dugout.

But it was the opener Craig Ervine sensible knock of 58 runs off 54 deliveries and Raza’s blazing 40 runs off just 23 deliveries despite losing 2 quick wickets, Zimbabwe managed to finish the things off in style with Ryan Burl hitting a boundary and winning the game with nine balls to spare.

Zimbabwe has qualified for the super 12s knocking the Scotland out of the tournament. The Four teams which have qualified for the super 12s are, Group A : Sri Lanka and Netherlands and from Group B : Zimbabwe and Ireland.

Brief Scoreboard : Scotland 132/6 in 20 overs (George Munsey 54, Callum MacLeod 25, Tendai Chatara 2-14, Richard Ngarava 2-28) lost to Zimbabwe 133/5 in 18.3 overs (Craig Ervine 58, Sikandar Raza 40, Josh Davey 2-16) by 5 wickets.
