Ireland after electing to bowl first, McCrathy provided the first break through for Ireland dismissing David Warner for 3 runs. Mitchell Marsh and Finch both were going strong and scoring 49 runs in the Powerplay.
And both made a partnership of 52 runs. Marsh was playing well but got out to McCarthy after contributing 28 runs. Aaron Finch kept on playing the shots, Maxwell also didn’t last any longer and was dismissed for 9 runs. Ireland batters came out for the chase of stiff target, started off well by scoring some boundaries in first 15 balls, but soon after that, Ireland skipper was dismissed for 6 runs by Cummins and after that, wickets kept on tumbling on one side as Ireland were reduced to 25 for 5 in four overs.
Tector, Campher and Dockrell were dismissed for 0. At one stage, Ireland were in deep deep trouble but Tucker provided some fire works to enlighten Ireland dugout but in the end, lone contribution did not prove vital as Tucker amazing knock of 71 runs off 48 deliveries went in vain as Australia won by a margin of 42 runs.
For Australia, it was their combined effort in bowling as four bowlers took 2 wickets each and zampa taking one wicket. This win takes Australia to the second place in the points table in Group 1 with five points.
