India Beats Sri Lanka By Just An Margin Of Two Runs As Shivam Mavi Takes Four Wickets On His Debut In Mumbai

India took a 1-0 lead in the three match series after defeating Sri Lanka by just  two runs in their opening T20 International game at  the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai. India was given the opportunity to bat, did not go in India’s favour but early contibution from Ishan Kishan scoring 37 runs and Captain Hardik too played an vital contribution of 29 runs.

Further, end contribution from Axar Patel scoring 31 off 20 and Deepak Hooda scored 43 runs off just 23 balls, India finished with a total of 162 for five after experiencing some difficulty early on in their innings.

In response, Sri Lanka was dismissed for 160 runs in 20 overs, with bowler Shivam Mavi taking 4 wickets for 20 runs in his four overs in his debut match, he dismissed both the openers.

Dasun Shanaka, the Sri Lanka’s captain, led the team in scoring with 45 from 27 balls. But, in the end Indian bowlers ensured that, they held their nerves and clinched victory in the end by 2 runs. The second T20I between India and Sri Lanka will be played on 5th of January on Thursday in Pune.
