The largest offer for a team in the Women’s Premier League (WPL), which is the official name for the competition established by the Board of Control for Cricket in India, has been made by The Adani Sportsline Pvt Ltd, Gautam Adani’s sports arm with an amount of 1289 Crores.
Adani Sportsline Pvt Ltd group almost spent 1289 Crore (Indian Rupees) to purchase the Ahmedabad franchise after nearly acquiring an IPL franchise in the past.
The four other franchises with the highest bids were Mumbai Indians, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Delhi Capitals, and Capri Global will now own Women’s Premier League franchises as a result.
