As New Zealand defeated Sri Lanka by two wickets in Christchurch today, India have secured their spot in the World Test Championship finals, where they will play Australia. At the Oval from June 7–11, Australia and India will square off in the World Test Championship final.
Rohit Sharma’s team was able to secure a position in the WTC final by outlasting Australia at home in the first three of four Test matches to take a 2-1 series advantage.
India started their cycle campaign against England in England the team led by Joe Root, where India taking a lead of 2-1 in the series. Further, India’s excellent home series performances against New Zealand, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh helped them advance to the World Tennis Championship final.
Their victory in the Border-Gavaskar series sets up a World Test Championship championship match versus Australia at The Oval in London starting on June 7.
