ARSENAL WORKING ON PLAYER CONTRACT EXTENTION

Arsenal boss Arteta confirms the Gunners are working to extend Saliba, Saka and Martinelli’s contracts: “Yes, Edu is on top of it. We want reward the players that have a big future for the club”. “We’ll try to do things in the right way, to plan in the best possible way”.

Arsenal are reportedly set to go back in for Manuel Locatelli in January, with Albert Sambi Lokonga potentially going the other way in a straight swap deal. Chelsea ‘absolutely do not’ want to extend N’Golo Kante’s contract, which expires in June 2023. The player wants to stay in London, ‘where he feels good’ & he has been offered to Arsenal & Tottenham. But Arsenal is not currently an option for N’Golo Kante. Contrary to some reports, he wasn’t considered over the summer and isn’t on Arsenal’s radar now. Douglas Luiz remains on Arsenal’s list for January, and they also considered signing Palmeiras midfielder Danilo in the summer Arsenal are keeping close tabs on Man United superstar Marcus Rashford. The attacker is out of contract next summer but United have the option to extend the deal by 12 months.

Arsenal’s new long-term sponsorship with Adidas, running until the end of the 2029/30 season, worth around £75m per year (£600m eight-year contract), is the most valuable partnership in the Premier League for kit manufacturers.
