Astana Open Day 7: Djokovic beats Tsitsipas to clinch 90th career title

Finals day in Astana, Kazakhstan and fourth seed Novak Djokovic was up against third seed Stefanos Tsitsipas on the quest for a 90th career title for the Serb.

And it was achieved in style as he conquered the Greek in straight sets 6-3 6-4 to win it. Both players displayed high quality tennis but it was the experience and gritty tennis of Djokovic that saw him through. Tsitsipas played aggressively but was not able to break down a solid looking Novak Djokovic.

The Serb broke the Tsitsipas serve at 4-3 in the first set to go 5-3 up and served it out. He then broke once more in the second set to seal in 6-4. Another solid week at Astana gives Djokovic his 90th career title and second title on the trot after the ATP 250 event last week in Tel Aviv. Djokovic will now have a confirmed spot in the Nitto ATP Finals scheduled to take place in Turin on 13th-20th November.

This is also the fourth title this year for Djokovic as he has won in Rome, Wimbledon, Tel Aviv and now Astana.
