Australia Beats New Zealand By 2 Wickets In Low Scoring Thriller Of A Contest In The 1st ODI

The unbeaten score of 89 from Cameron Green and 85 from Alex Carey helped Australia defeat New Zealand by two wickets on Tuesday at Cazaly’s Stadium in Cairns in Australia. Carey and Green set up a 158-run stand for the sixth wicket when Australia was 44 for 5 and needed 233 runs to defeat New Zealand.

Australia rapidly lost the next three wickets, but Green’s effort kept them in the match and ultimately helped them win in an low scoring thriller. Trent Boult was the best bowler for New Zealand, taking 4 for 40 in his quote 10 overs. Devon Conway was the highest run getter in this match for New Zealand scoring 46 runs to lead New Zealand’s 232 for 9 total against Australia earlier.

After Australia’s skipper Aaron Finch made the decision to bowl first. After winning the toss, Glenn Maxwell took with four wickets , where to Josh Hazlewood’s three wickets and Zampa and Starc taking one wicket each.

Both of them rattled New Zealand batting line up and reducing them to a low total and chasing it with 2 wickets to spare. Cameron Green’s vital knock under pressure situation earned him the Player of the Match.
