Bangladesh Appoints Hashan Tillakaratne As The Head Coach Of Bangladesh Women’s Cricket Team

Former Sri Lankan batter Hashan Tillakaratne has been appointed as Bangladesh Women’s Cricket Team’s head coach by Bangladesh for the next two years. When he joins in November, Tillakaratne, the women’s head coach of Sri Lanka, will continue the role of the head coach.

The agreement was made during the recently concluded Asia Cup, which was played in Bangladesh, stated by the BCB Women’s Cricket Chairman, Nadel Chowdhury. Nadel further added that, “We have engaged him (Tillakaratne) for the next two years as the head coach of our women’s squad, and we anticipate his arrival in November to take up the position”.

Nadel stated that, “We have been trying for a long time to find a coach for our women’s squad, but for numerous reasons we have not been able to do so. However, we are now pleased to name a coach of his ability to our women’s team.

He has outstanding experience, both as a player and a coach, and we believe he is the finest candidate to coach our women’s team. Because BCB was unable to recruit Mark Robinson, despite their early hope, the Bangladesh women’s team had been led by local coaches since Anju Jain’s departure.
