England’s Allrounder Ben Stokes Comes Out Of Retirement From ODI Setup In Order To Be Available For This Year’s ODI World Cup 2023, He Returns To The ODI squad For The New Zealand ODI Series

According to sources, Ben Stokes, the captain of England’s Test team, has opted to reverse his ODI retirement decision and is now available for selection for the upcoming World Cup 2023 in India. 

Further, in the coming ODI series against New Zealand at home which begins on September 8, Ben Stokes will once again don the England One Day jersey. From August 30 onwards, England will host a white ball series against New Zealand which will include four T20Is and four ODIs.

However, the team did not have a spot for renowned bowler Jofra Archer. But, Ben Stokes will continue to lead England in Test cricket. Even so, there is a chance that he will play in another 50 overs series since England won’t play a Test match until January 2024. Also, Ben Stokes was not selected for the T20I series against New Zealand.

ODIs : Jos Buttler(C), Moeen Ali, Gus Atkinson, Jonny Bairstow(WK), Sam Curran, Liam Livingstone, Dawid Malan, Adil Rashid, Joe Root, Jason Roy, Ben Stokes, Reece Topley, David Willey, Mark Wood, Chris Woakes.

T20Is : Jos Buttler(C) Rehan Ahmed, Moeen Ali, Gus Atkinson, Jonny Bairstow(WK), Harry Brook, Sam Curran, Ben Duckett, Will Jacks, Liam Livingstone, Dawid Malan, Adil Rashid, Josh Tongue, John Turner, Luke Wood.
