The latest transfer rumour is that Galatasaray are considering making a bid for Manchester United legend Cristiano Ronaldo.
Sources close to club officials indicate that the 37-year old striker from Portugal is the man they want and will attempt to do whatever is necessary to sign him. The club’s vice-president said: “We have come across names that defy dreams.”. According to sources who spoke to ESPN, Manchester United is convinced that Cristiano Ronaldo will remain at the club in January mostly due to a lack of interest in him. If Ronaldo is unable to obtain a consistent spot in Erik ten Hag’s lineup, United is ready for him to launch another effort to leave Old Trafford. United is aware that he could want to leave in January in an effort to play regularly for the first team.
Despite having made three appearances for United in the Europa League this season, UEFA regulations enable Ronaldo to join for a team in the Champions League in January and compete in the knockout rounds in the new year. Despite Ronaldo’s well-publicized intention to leave in the summer, United only got one definite offer from a Saudi Arabian club, which was rejected by both Ronaldo’s team and United. However, club insiders say it’s uncertain how big of a market there would be for the 37-year-old in January. David Beckham is apparently trying to convince Cristiano Ronaldo to join the Inter Miami next season. There are negotiations but they are still very far from reaching an agreement.
Unfortunately for Ronaldo, other elite European teams did not even try to sign the Manchester United legend. The Portuguese superstar was linked with Chelsea, Atletico Madrid, Napoli, and other teams in the summer, but he chose to stay with the Red Devils and has battled ever since. Ronaldo has spent more time than he would have liked warming the bench this season, and the only goal he has so far scored was the penalty kick in United’s Europa League victory over FC Sheriff. His predicament did not get any better during the international break because he still had trouble scoring, even for Portugal in their UEFA Nations League matches. Ronaldo started in United’s Europa League match against Omonia on Thursday after being unused as a substitute in the Red Devils’ 6-3 loss to Manchester City. In the Red Devils’ 3-2 triumph over Cyprus’s seventh-best team, the Portuguese talisman battled to score his 700th club career goal, frustrating the veteran striker and his supporters. The symbol, however, has been given a new escape route.
