Hardik Pandya and India’s general World Cup readiness will be examined as the national team kicks off their three match ODI series against Australia in Mumbai Friday today.
While Rohit Sharma is unable to attend the opening ODI match at the Wankhede Stadium owing to family obligations, Hardik Pandya will lead the Indian team in his place.
Although Pandya is the usual India captain in the T20 format, this will be his maiden ODI as captain. Moreover, he has been named the vice captain for the three match ODI series. India will be looking to start the series on a good note.
Gill and Kohli will look to continue their form into the ODI series. On the other hand, Australia will have the services of David Warner who is back for the ODI series and they will have to bring their A game as they will also be looking to win the ODI series which is starting today. And also Australia will try to take this series as a practice for the upcoming 50 over World Cup 2023 in India.
