According to BCCI sources, Shikhar Dhawan, will captain India in the upcoming ODI series against South Africa at home. Since players travelling to the T20 World Cup are anticipated to gain respite, Dhawan would assume the captaincy, as per the sources. From October 16 to November 13, Australia will host the ninth edition of the ICC T20 World Cup 2022.
In addition, VVS Laxman will likely take over as the team’s coach while Rahul Dravid will be away. Three T20Is and three ODIs between India and South Africa will begin on September 28.
The series against South Africa, will begin with T20Is, where the first T20I will be played in Thiruvananthapuram on September 28. The second Twenty20 International will be played at Guwahati on October 2.
The last T20I will be played in Indore on October 4. Beginning on October 6, the ODI series will then shift to Lucknow city. The team’s captain will be Shikhar Dhawan. On October 9 and 11, respectively, Ranchi and Delhi will host the second and third One-Day Internationals.
