With a height of 2.22 metres on Wednesday at the current Commonwealth Games 2022 in Birmingham, Tejaswin Shankar of India took home the bronze medal in the men’s high jump final. The 23-year-old won the men’s high jump competition and the nation’s first athletics medal at the 2022 Commonwealth Games.
Tejaswin Shankar of India took home the medal after Donald Thomas of the Bahamas, a former world and CWG champion, and Tejaswin Shankar tied at 2.22 metres but committed less fouls. After Gurdeep Singh victory India had 16 medals, but now after Tejaswin’s heroics, the total medal count is now 17.
