Joao Felix, who was linked with Arsenal and Manchester United since the start of the January transfer window due to lack of gametime in Athletico Madrid under Simeone who had conflict with him regarding his game style.
Previously he was heavily linked with Arsenal and Manchester United who was hesitating to pay the 13 million Euros + 250K salary for a 6-month spell. There were negotiations between Jorge Mendes, agent for Joao Felix, who negotiated between the clubs demands with Athletico Madrid.
Chelsea who lost 2 attackers Cristian Pulisic and Raheem Sterling, who was ruled out against Manchester City last week due to injuries. Chelsea who spent around 250 million Euros to reinforce their defense and attack when players like Rudiger, Christensen, Drinkwater, Barkley etc., moved out either as free agents or transferred to other teams.
Chelsea agreed with the terms set by Athletico Madrid since they desperately need a forward. Chelsea who are in 10th position in Premier League only able to score 20 goals in 17 games, winning 7 games this season.
The full verbal agreement reached, loan move on 11 million Euros fee with 100% salary being covered. Before leaving Joao Felix will be extending his contract with Atletico Madrid untill 2027.
