Liverpool Match Premier League Record With 9-0 Devastation Of Bournemouth

With a 9-0 hammering of newly promoted Bournemouth at Anfield on Saturday (Aug 27), Liverpool achieved their first victory of the year in a spectacular manner, matching the record for the biggest-ever Premier League triumph.

Talk of a slow start to the season was quickly put to rest as Liverpool established a 2-0 lead inside six minutes and added three more before halftime. Liverpool had lost their first three games, including a 2-1 loss against United on Monday. Interestingly, Mohamed Salah, an Egyptian striker, was not one of the six different Liverpool players that scored.

As Liverpool became the fourth Premier League club to win by a 9-0 scoreline, Luis Diaz and Roberto Firmino both scored twice. Full-back Trent Alexander-Arnold claimed the victory was therapeutic following their poor performance against their opponents at Old Trafford.

We wanted to show a reaction. Getting to be the best version of ourselves. We scored wonderful goals.
