In their maiden season,GT defeats RR by seven wickets in qalifier 1 to reach the IPL 2022 final. As GT chased down the 189 run target in 19.3 overs to win the match, David Miller hammered three sixes in a row in the final over. On Friday, RR will play the winner of the eliminator between RCB and LSG in qualifier 2.
Gujarat are on a high as they have chased down a target which seemed difficult and challenging at the half way stage. With Buttler’s masterclass 89(56) in the first innings and his partnership with the skipper Samson smashing 47(26) helped RR to post a total of 188 runs in 20 overs.
Then came the 2nd innings show with Saha falling early to BOULT for a golden duck. Matthew Wade 35(30) and Shubhman gill 35(21) took on the proceedings further and built a partnership matching the required run rate. After the wickets of these two, there was all about “KILLER MILLER’s” show who played a brutal match winning innings 68(38) for his team at the EDEN GARDENS and built an unbeaten partnership with his captain Hardik Pandya 40(27) who anchored from the other end.
