New Zealand Star All-Rounder Colin De Grandhomme Retires From International Cricket

Allrounder Colin de Grandhomme of New Zealand has announced his retirement from international cricket. Since when he made his debut in 2012, he has played in 29 Tests, 45 ODIs, and 41 T20 Internationals.

Colin De Grandhomme stated that, “I understand that I’m not getting any younger and that training is getting harder, particularly with the injuries”. Along with having a growing family, I’m trying to think about what I’ll do after cricket. I have been contemplating this for the past few weeks.

He further added that, I have had the chance to play for the BLACKCAPS since making my international debut in 2012, and while I’m proud of my international career, I believe the time is right to quit.

De Grandhomme helped a New Zealand side succeed in all competitions. He scored 1432 runs in 29 Test matches, winning 18 of them for New Zealand. He also significantly contributed to New Zealand’s victory in the ICC Test Championship.

He also made a big difference in one-day internationals, which helped New Zealand finish second in the 2019 World Cup. He played 45 ODIs and scored 742 runs at an average of 26.5 and he also played 25 IPL matches in his career.
