Usama Mir, a wrist spinner, and the uncapped hitters Tayyab Tahir and Kamran Ghulam have been selected in Pakistan’s 16 member squad for the coming ODI series against New Zealand. Shan Masood and Haris Sohail are also being called back to the team.
Furthermore, Khushdil Shah, Mohammad Haris, and Zahid Mehmood are not part of the squad. Sharjeel Khan, the starting hitter who was included in the possibles list last week, is also left off the list. Kamran Ghulam is a member of the Test squad, although Tahir and Mir are included because of some outstanding performances in the Pakistan Cup.
Mir won the equivalent award for bowlers after snatching up 28 wickets in the tournament, while Tahir follows in after amassing 573 runs during the competition, earning him the Best Batter award. Vice Captain Shadab Khan will also miss the ODI series against New Zealand due to Right index finger fracture.
