Pakistan Beats Bangladesh By 21 Runs In The Tri-Series Opening Match

Mohammad Rizwan’s knock of 78 not out from 50 helped Pakistan upset Bangladesh by a margin of 21 runs in the opening T20 tri-series game in Christchurch. When Pakistan was given the chance to bat, they managed to get to 167/5 in their 20 overs.

On a good batting surface, this was by no ways a defendable score, but it gave their strong bowling unit something to work with. And as it turned out, Bangladesh lost wickets at frequent intervals and more than they had missed their captain Shakib Al Hasan. The fall of the middle order was expected.

They missed their opportunity to win the opening game. Pakistan easily won the match, and Haris Rauf’s final over, wherein Yasir Ali struck him for 20 runs, was primarily responsible for the narrow margin of defeat of only 21 runs. If not, Bangladesh frequently lost wickets while chasing throughout the entire innings.

The opening pair of Miraz and Sabbir Rahman contributed 25 runs before reaching 87/2, where they were at ease and competitive, thanks to a fifty-run stand for the third wicket. However, after that, Bangladesh lost 6 wickets for just 32 runs. Mohammad Wasim Jr. and Mohammad Nawaz scored five runs between them, but Yasir’s unbeaten 41 off 21 really can not do much more than conceal the defeat.

Brief Scorecard : Pakistan 167/5 (Rizwan 78*, Taskin 2-25) beat Bangladesh 146/8 (Yasir 42, Mohammad Wasim Jr. 3-24) by 21 runs.
