Rajat Patidar Ton Puts India A In The Position Of Winning The Last Test After First Two Games Resulted In Draw

Even though the first two four-day games between India A and New Zealand A ended in draws, India A gave themselves a great chance to win the series 1-0 after a good performance with the bat on the third day at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

New Zealand entered Stumps on Saturday, September 17, with a 20/1 chasing 416 to win the test match. Rajat Patidar, who contributed significantly to Madhya Pradesh’s triumph in the Ranji Trophy a few months before, kept up his impressive performance by scoring his second series-high three-figure total against New Zealand A.

His unbroken 109 enabled India A reach 395/7 and increase their advantage over 400 before declaring their innings, along with Ruturaj Gaikwad’s 94, Priyank Panchal’s 62, and Sarfaraz Khan’s 63.

Due to India A’s 4.22 scoring pace, the visitors were under pressure the entire innings; only late strikes by Rachin Ravindra provided them with considerable relief. Before Stumps, New Zealand A had 14 overs to bat, and at that time, Ravindra, who also began the inning, was caught leg-before by Saurabh Kumar.

Scores at the end of Day 3’s play : India A 293 & 359/7 decl (Rajat Patidar 109, Ruturaj Gaikwad 94, Sarfaraz Khan 63, Priyank Panchal 62, Rachin Ravindra 3-65) lead New Zealand A 20/1 (Rachin Ravindra 12, Saurabh Kumar 1-13) by 395 runs.
