BCCI has released the squad list foe upcoming T20 series against South Africa. Big names like Hardik Pandya and Deepak Hooda, who have been consistent in the recent games have been dropped off and Shreyas Iyer has given chance again. Shahbaz Ahmed, the 27 year old RCB all rounder, left hand batsman and left arm slow bowler is the uncapped player selected for this series.
“Shahbaz is more of a batting all-rounder, who is more than a handy left arm spinner. He is just there as backup in case Axar needed to give a rest for a match with six T20 games in 10 days, include travel across country”, the sources said.
The T20 series will be starting on 28th of September at Thiruvananthapuram. Shami is yet to be include, but has been out due to COVID.
