Star Indian Batter Suresh Raina Retires From All Forms Of Cricket Including IPL

On Tuesday, Suresh Raina declared his retirement from all cricket competitions, including that of the Indian Premier League. Suresh Raina, a crucial player of the four-time IPL champion Chennai Super Kings, was not bought during the IPL auction 2022.

The left-handed batter was a stalwart of the Indian team for many years and played for the 2011 World Cup-winning side. Raina has represented India in all three of the game’s formats, but his accomplishments to white-ball cricket was outstanding.

In 226 ODI matches for his nation, the left-handed batter scored around 5615 runs at an average of 35.31, with his highest total was116 not out. Raina played in 78 T20 Internationals and scored 1065 runs. In the game’s shortest format, he was also the first Indian player to score a century. He also scored 5,528 IPL runs totally and he is the fifth highest run scorer in IPL.

The 35-year-old declared his retirement from international cricket on August 15, 2020, on the same day when, MS Dhoni announced his retirement as an Indian cricket player. Raina stated that it had been an honour to have played cricket for his nation and his state.

The left-handed batter acknowledged the BCCI and Chennai Super Kings among others before announcing his retirement from all forms of the game. Moreover, he also thanked his followers for their enduring faith in him. Raina has announced the end of his illustrious career, which saw significant success in both IPL and for India.
