As Indian cricket gets ready for the T20 World Cup 2022 semi finals match against England, there is still a serious issue with the wicketkeeper selection. Dinesh Karthik participated in 4 of the 5 Super 12 games prior to Rishabh Pant being selected for the dead rubber match against Zimbabwe.
The southpaw might wind up manning the stumps due to the size of the Adelaide Oval and his past performance against England. However, making a decision is challenging because Pant is unable to fill the finishing position Karthik has carved out for himself. Dinesh Karthik’s average form to finish the innings on a few occasions despite having a chance in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2022, must also be taken into account.
But Indian Batting has been tremendous this season with Kohli and Suryakumar in great form and Rahul coming back to form with his consecutive fifties and bowling attack has also improved significantly in this year’s T20 World Cup 2022.
England on the other hand, will be missing the services of Dawid Malan due to injury and as well as Mark Wood who did not attend England’s practice match will be doubtful for the semi finals as England management have to take quick decision on that. But England will be dependent on their Skipper Buttler who has had only average World Cup with just one fifty and their Middle order batters have to step up.
