The Boehly Era: Chelsea Seal Raheem Sterling

Before his physical with Chelsea, Raheem Sterling has been sighted in London. The 27-year-old is expected to be Todd Boehly’s first high-profile acquisition at the club and the two clubs have reached an agreement on a £45 million (plus £10 million in add-ons) transfer price.

According to the sources, Sterling is expected to sign a deal until 2027 with an option for an additional year.

Sterling will formally join Chelsea in the coming days after passing his medical with Man City. The England international is anticipated to have his physical in London before travelling to the US to join up with his new Chelsea teammates.

Now, Sterling has been sighted in the city on Instagram, showing off his new hairstyle with the help of his barber, @hd cutz london. Theoretically, Sterling should be prepared to finalise his expensive move to Chelsea now that his hair is in tip-top shape.

Sterling began his professional career at Liverpool before moving to City in July 2015. He quickly became a fixture in their front line and scored 131 goals in 337 games for Pep Guardiola’s team.

During his tenure at the Etihad Stadium, he has won the league championship, the League Cup, one FA Cup, and each of those awards four times.

Though Guardiola frequently preferred Phil Foden or Jack Grealish on the left, Sterling slid down the pecking order last season, contributing little to City’s drive to the league title and the Champions League semifinal.

Thomas Tuchel will be hopeful that Sterling’s signing would bolster his underwhelming front line. Last year, players like Timo Werner, Romelu Lukaku, Hakim Ziyech, and Christian Pulisic all underperformed in the attacking third.

  1. Wow!!! Sterling what a deal done by Chelsea great start for their signing campaign looking forward for many players to be signed by them.

  2. To be honest not a big fan of Sterling, but no doubt he’s a pretty good player. I guess his move to Chelsea will help both him and the team as Sterling needs a boost in his career and Chelsea requires a proper attacking player up front.
