Wolves sack Bruno Lage

Bruno Lage has been sacked by Wolverhampton. Wolves were prepared to sack Bruno Lage after poor results, confirmed as reported by Portuguese press. Wolves board will open talks with candidates to job next week. Bruno Lage joined Wolves from Benfica. The Portuguese coach had a great year in 2021. But the year 2022 was so bad for him as he had one win in his last 15 Premier League games. Wolves came 10th, having not won any of their final seven games. Lage won away to opponents such as Aston Villa, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur, but only scored more goals than the three relegated teams. His winless streak continued into the following season before ending at 12, with a 1–0 home win over Southampton on 3 September. On 2 October, after a defeat to West Ham United, Lage and his coaching staff were sacked, with the club 18th in the league. Ruben Amorim, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Julen Lopetegui, Paulo Fonseca, Ange Postecoglou and Sean Dyche are said to be the front runners for the Job.
